Bliss Stage interlude.

Actual play report.

An absolutely seething Eloise Schwartzchild carries Jessica and drags Lloyd to her office. When Lloyd protests, "Before we clean up?" her response is to throw a towel at him: he starts cleaning up, removing various bits of clothing to expedite the process. At one point, he's completely naked - not that Eloise cares, as she's too busy being disgusted with him to be shocked at his attire (or lack thereof.)

Cut to the office itself, where Jessica sits unresponsive - more exhausted and miserable than 404 Brain Not Found - a cup of tea on the table next to her, while Lloyd is treated to the Doctor's withering glare.

"Lloyd?" she sings, ominously. "I hear that you've been teaching Miss Simmons here something about piloting in your spare time~?"

"I've been guiding her towards what is neccessary to avoid everyone dying, yes," Lloyd replies.

Eloise adjusts her glasses such that they have an Ominous Lens Flare (TM). "Specifically, on the current therories regarding how to improve the components of one's ANIMa... correct?" she asks, in a smooth, even tone.

"Amongst other things, yes, that is an essential component in maintaining battlefield effectiveness. You yourself can see how traumatised she is by each mission as she is. I'm assuming you don't want that."

The Doctor nodded. "And I'm curious as to what point you decided that the best way of doing this would be to SCAR HER AND JASON FOR LIFE!!!!" She whipped a wrinkled peice of paper with some wax stains on it onto the table - the letter from earlier.

Lloyd looked up in thought. "About last Tuesday, I think."

"ABOUT LAST-!?"

"He would treat her gently, so she would be more powerful, without undue trauma. I considered Julian, but didn't think I could trust him enough."

The Doctor sneered. "Lloyd, you are currently an arrogant, manipulative bastard in addition to being a star pilot. And you're treading on ice that's VERY thin indeed."

Lloyd indolently smiled. "So you're saying a pilot is less important than a- I'm sorry, what *is* it that you do, nowadays?"

She grinned, all fangs. "Figure out how the equipment that keeps YOU alive and the aliens dead *WORKS,* of course. Constant experimentation, tweaking the feeds. You weren't complaining when the sheild based on my theories prevented your death by fire, now were you?" Shaking her head, she added, "Has it occured to you that there are other factors in the capabilites of an ANIMa, or a pilot?"

"Yes. I'm working on those as well; She's going to have to solo these missions before too long."

"No, I'm not," said Jessica kind of dreamily. The Doctor turned to her, pausing right before launching a rant: her expression dramatically softens.

Finally she said, "At the point when she has to solo, having a warmachine that is, how shall I put it, *durable* is going to be a concern. Or were you not aware of that theory?" She sighed, then added, "Look. Given the circumstances, and the mechanics of our... weapons, Sex education... let's put it that way, yes... especially regarding the emotions involved, is vital." With a glare at Lloyd, she snarled, "I just rather disapprove of your requiring PRACTICALS WITH UNWILLING TUTORS. Do I make myself absolutely clear?"

"If the only willing tutor is completely untrustworthy, what sort of a mentor would I be if I chose him? I had no choice but to make sure that the only suitable candidate would volunteer."

A totally disgusted Eloise said, "Ah. I see we reach the point of this entire discussion, then, Lloyd... It's not your choice. And don't you DARE forget that. It's HERS. Especially given that I have a fair idea of what CAUSED her performance today."

Lloyd didn't hesitate before levelling back: "Even if that choice is the wrong one with regards to the greater good? Even if her choice would doom us all to death?"

"Who the hell are you to decide it will?"

Lloyd stood. "I'm the most experienced pilot there is. I know what we will have to face better than even you. And I know how we need to prepare for what we will face, as I have faced it! And unless you want, in 6 months time, to have a pilot already at burnout when you need her most, you will leave her training to me!"

Jessica, now awakening from her funk, plead: "Lloyd, Eloise, please don't shout at each other," she asks plaintively. Then she double-takes at the naked Lloyd.

"Don't worry, we're done." Lloyd moved to exit.

"Lloyd, uh, do you actually not have any clothes on?" Jessica asked.

"Call it education."

"...Right," said a completely unplussed Jessica.

The Doctor sighs. "Mr. Frey, if I hear of you threatening anyone on this base again, especially in regards to Jessica's "education," you will live to regret it. Understood?"

"If I don't threaten when neccessary, none of us will live to regret it," he said as he marched out.

Jessica was silent for a while, then said, "I'm sorry about Lloyd. He doesn't mean it. It's just how he gets tired."

SoylentWhite: (Yes I do! Yes I do!)

"I certianly hope so, Jess... oh, and welcome back to our planet. I just fear that he DOES mean it." A pause, then: "Jess... you know you don't have to..." She shook her head. "Never mind. Take care of yourself."

"I know," Jessica lied.

Chessy ruled: Trauma relief for Lloyd. His personal problems, such as being a manipulative SOB, are going to bite him on the ass some day...

Manipulative, egotistic, arrogant, aggressive, near-megalomanical SOB, thank you very much . . . --SoylentWhite

That too. - EB
